Tualatin HS Gives the Gift of Free Theatre to Mothers, Student Directed

Tualatin Theatre Department is proud to present Lee Blessing’s award winning Eleemosynary. This play won the prestigious Los Angeles Drama Critics Award. Both funny and poignant, this play examines the subtle and often perilous relationship between three remarkable women: a young girl, her mother, and her grandmother. Artie abandons her daughter Echo to be raised by Echo’s grandmother, Dorothea. But when Dorothea’s health begins to fail, can Artie and Echo move beyond the superficiality of words and begin to build a deeper relationship?

Senior, Tegan Kelley is one of the three actresses in the production, but on top of that she also directed the 95 minute piece of theatre. “Being given the opportunity to direct and act in Eleemosynary has been a dream come true. While directing for the first time was sometimes overwhelming, I have had an amazing time and I can’t wait to share this heartfelt story with our audiences.” 

Theatre director, Jenn Hunter Tindle was excited to add a student produced work to the season’s line up. “I am thrilled to offer an intimate theatre experience to the community. It will be different from anything I have produced at the high school.”
 
Kelley and Hunter Tindle love the message of the play so much, they decided that mothers would be invited to see the production for free.

Eleemosynary will be presented November 21 & 22 at 7pm.
Seating is limited and $5 tickets will be sold at the door.
Doors will open at 6:30pm.
